The working principle of a scroll air compressor is based on scroll compression technology, which compresses air through rotational power. Its core components are a pair of rotating screw rotors, one of which is called the main rotor and the other the secondary rotor. The gap between the main rotor and the secondary rotor is extremely small; when they rotate, air is drawn in and gradually compressed.

The working process of a scroll air compressor can be divided into four stages: suction, compression, exhaust, and cooling. In the suction stage, the gap between the main rotor and the secondary rotor expands, forming a low-pressure area. Air enters the compression chamber through the intake valve and is then gradually compressed by the screws of the main and secondary rotors.

Next is the compression stage. The gap between the main rotor and the secondary rotor gradually narrows, further compressing the air. During this process, the temperature of the air rises as it is compressed. To prevent overheating, scroll air compressors are usually equipped with a cooling system to ensure the temperature of the compressed air stays within an acceptable range.

When the air is compressed to the required pressure, it enters the exhaust stage. At this point, the exhaust valve opens to discharge the compressed air from the scroll air compressor. During the exhaust process, the gap between the main rotor and the secondary rotor expands again to allow more air to enter the compression chamber.

Subsequently, in the cooling stage, the compressed air is cooled to a suitable temperature via the cooling system. The cooled air can be directly supplied to various equipment and processes in industrial production, such as pneumatic tools, spraying equipment, and pneumatic conveying systems.

The working principle of scroll air compressors endows them with many advantages. They can provide stable compressed air, whether under low-load or high-load conditions. Scroll air compressors have high energy efficiency, as they can convert electrical energy into the energy of compressed air, reducing energy waste. In addition, they have a compact structure and a small footprint, making them suitable for various industrial environments.
